I have exactly the same issue as previous post.
I have BW-16D1HT running 1.01
This will NOT upgrade firmware, says
Your optical drive firmware is up to date.
Can anyone help.

Your drive is too old! Do not flash it. The newer versions start with firmware 3.00. Since your drive is on 1.01, I am certain it is older than 2016.clickmanf22 wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 11:04 amI have exactly the same issue as previous post.

Where is the most recent modified LG flasher kept please? Also, is there a firmware dump cleaning tool handy?
As in I've dumped the firmware from <a certain drive that did not have support> and wanted to clean the calibration data off of it before passing it out.
Thank you!

You would be better taking this down Chase as both you and Alex could end up getting banned. Don't say I did not warn you. Just PM Marty and he will answer your Question . He has been okay with me give him try. Tell him about you condition first.
Hope you are keeping good. Any modification on the flasher Marty is the person to speak to.

You shouldn't cross flash a bu40n there are 3 main firmwares for it.Chasetheace wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 2:04 pmIf you don't mind me asking what can a BU40N be cross-flasshed to. Th last time I asked a question like this and where I coul;d buy one cheap I got this answer:
Thank youi= i would appeciate to know please as I now have a BU40N
1.00de from me or Marty ,works with all rippers that support bu40n
1.03mk from Mike
And bu10de if you want it to be a buffalo drive ,works with all rippers that support bu40n
I recommend 1.00de or 1.03mk

Hi
I'm new to this forum.
I have Asus BW-16D1H-U(USB External) with A203 and it's not frielndly with UHD now.
I'm wondering , if i can use flash asus 3.10 mk to make it UHD friendly?
Is 3.10 MK is compatible with Asus BW-16D1H-U external drive?

No. The USB version of the Asus is not the same drive as their internal units with "almost" the same part number.
It is NOT UHD capable, and flashing the firmware will not fix that, and may make the drive unusable. The hardware doesn't support reading UHD disks.
It's a good drive for regular Bluray and DVD disks, just not UHD.

I received my 16D1HT this evening and quickly installed it into my newly purchased OWC Mercury Pro enclosure and ran the firmware tool - 20 seconds later firmware 3.03 had been replaced with 3.02 - thank you for making such a user friendly firmware took available!
Nice to be ripping at 7.6x rather than locked to 2x on my UJ265 (sat within my NCase m1 case).
There's just the minor matter of actually purchasing a 4K blu-ray now....
