Hello together,

just signed up here because I got mad with the upgrader :(.
First of all I want to thank you for this great tool.

But I have a problem with it and I hope you can help me out.
I use the modified flasher and choose 3.02 for my ASUS BW-16D1HT 1.01 (as shown in the flasher).
But when I click "START" it shows an error: "Your optical drive firmware is up to date".

What to do now?

Greetings

Understand, so on normal Blu-ray discs this should not happen I guess ?
Offical for example LG WH16NS60 but on orginal stock firmware it will not rip UHD discs, after crossflash to be "UHD Friendly" does it will be still supported as "Official" for playing UHD BD discs via PowerDVD18, 19 ?

The sleep bug only affects UHD discs in "Friendly" drives.

The WH16NS60 official drive can rip UHD with MakeMKV if it is on firmware 1.00 and will still play UHD discs in PowerDVD. Plus, no sleep bug!!
Cheers :D

Hi,

Downloaded and tried the options below on an LG BH16NS40 currently running

Product: BD-RE BH16NS40
Revision: 1.03

When I select the available software for this drive

DE_LG_BH16NS40_1.02_NS50.bin

It states your drive is up to date and will not proceed.

Can you help.

Hi,
I just bought a BC-12D2HT drive that uses 3.11 fw.
I've tried your tool but it doesn't work, always failure #4. maybe a 3.11 patched fw is needed ?

Can you help me to downgrade the fw?

thanks a lot

Has anyone come across a Flashing Failure #5 issue? The drive is a Nov 2018 BC-12D2HT on an internal SATA lead using Marty's updated patched Asus flasher. The fault occurs whilst attempting to cross-flash to a BW-16D1HT firmware of any version (DE or MK). There are no issues flashing any BC-12D2HT firmwares.

flash asus 3.10 mk then your desired fw and you should be good
let us know never seen 3.11 before, might want mike to make a dump of it he seems to know how on drives with dosflash disabled

I had Flash Failure #5 with the same drive when trying to cross-flash. No problems flashing a BC-12D1HT firmware. I tried the latest 3.11 firmware and got the Flash Failure #4 you get.

Simple fix for me was to cross-flash with the patched HLDS flasher first (I went straight to 3.10MK) and now I can use Marty's patched Asus flasher at will.

Thank you all on here for the posts and discussuons but particularly Mike and Marty for their fantastic work.

I tried your suggestion and it worked at the very first try.

Apologies for demonstrating my ignorance but I've ordered a BW-16D1DHT this evening and so I thought I'd download the tool (from the rapidfire location on the first post of this thread) and ran the exe. Windows Defender claims there is a Trojan in the file (Fuery.C!cl) which it quarantined. Is this a case of a false detection due to the functionality of the flash tool?

Again, apologies if I'm demonstrating my ignorance - I've ordered the drive to do some DIY flashing so that I can learn!

Yes, that is a false positive. Some AV's do think that due to the nature of the tool. I assure you, there are no viruses in the application.

Cheers!

I felt I need to register in order to say thank you and indeed I can't find words to thank you as I now own a perfect UHD 4K disk player. To be more specific I've followed your instructions on flashing the older firmware 3.02 to my newly purchased Asus - BW-16D1HT having 3.03 version. And thanks to you everything went more than fine when in other forums you need to be at least a computer specialist in order to follow their steps and not eventually damage your drive. Just one question. Is the drive going to burn BDs as fast with this firmware downgrade? Anyway I repeat I just can't find words to thank you!!!!
