Hey, just discovered this and ran the survey with my drive, makemkv info below, I was wondering if flashing was currently closed down only to specific people, or if you could get access to it by asking ? (probably a stupid question, the fact the program separates Research Access from Flashing Access means it's probably not made available to random people. asking just in case my assumption's wrong)

Thanks to Trevor's persistence and hard work, the first ever crossflash of a BDR-UD03 drive with 12/22+ firmware to BDR-UD04 1.14 has been successfully completed.

This time, an ASUS SBW-06D2X-U (BDR-UD03ASW) with firmware ver. 1.11 dated 04/2023 was successfully crossflashed to BDR-UD04 1.14.

New experimental route: BDR-212BK 1.04 drives can now be converted to BDR-212U 1.05.

New experimental route: BDR-209M 1.55 drives with the firmware build dated 23/02/03 can now be converted to BDR-211M 1.53, alongside the existing 23/02/16 build. The route ships paused until the first supervised conversion.
The customer portal now names the drive and firmware for every purchase instead of showing a generic label.

BDR-X13 1.04 conversions no longer stop at "Source main fingerprint read failed or changed". The app compared the drive's firmware against the wrong 164-byte window of the 1.04 original; the check now uses the same window it reads from the drive, so a genuine 1.04 drive passes it.

ASUS conversions now recognise drives that keep their own ASUS name inside the new firmware identity, so the main firmware step no longer stops on them.
Prepare and Write no longer require your USB drive to be the only optical drive in the PC. Other drives can stay connected; the app stays locked to the drive you selected.
