Legally... disappointed. lol

Post by MusicMan »

Is there a reason why MakeMKV won't make an ISO of a first generation Legally Blonde DVD, but DVDecrypter, a piece of software over 20 years old, will? Surely MakeMKV is more up to date with decryption? :!:

MakeMKV does create ISOs of DVDs. Whereas it only does a folder backup if the inserted disc is a Blu-ray disc.

I've never had this issue before, but if you have Windows and use Xreveal to break the encryption (if the disc is indeed encrypted), you can then use IMGBurn to make a 1:1 backup, apparently.

Yes, I'm aware. That's the problem, though. Why a 20 year old piece of software can create the ISO and MakeMKV can't. Don't know if there is some Log file somewhere that would explain why MakeMKV had issues. Just thought it was strange - although I'm guessing most use it for Bluray anyway.
