Anything I can do to make "non-UHD" Pioneer BD(XL) drive support UHD BD?
Anything I can do to make "non-UHD" Pioneer BD(XL) drive support UHD BD?
Hi all! So I have a BDR-S08(XLB/XLT), which apparently does not support UHD BD officially, and that apparently is not something that even LibreDrive can help. So my question is, can it be made to support UHD BD through some unofficial firmware flashing or so?

No, there isn't. The formats are different.

There were recent success stories with cross-flashing Pioneer drives, I believe some forum members provide this service for a fee. Current sdftool does not support this. I believe the relevant research happens on https://www.cdrinfo.pl/ forum.
