Braveheart 4K UHD Boxset

I have the 4K UHD Version of Braveheart which comes with 3 discs; the release of the movie in 4K UHD, the 1080p regular blu-ray, and the third disc is labeled special features only. I have submitted the AACS dump file to svq@makemkv.com. Also attaching it here in case someone can find it of use.

Eh? So in over 2 years, has MakeMKV never created a dump file for one of your disks?

i don't understand what you mean.

have created rip or backup for internal use, but never used a "dump" file or similar, for playback or otherwise; please correct me if i am wrong;

am just wondering why people seem keep posting "dump submitted" fir oxyz.

Do you not buy UHD disks? Or never buy newly-released UHD disks? The vast majority of BluRays - whether they're UHD or not - are encrypted, and MakeMKV cannot process a disk unless it can decrypt it first. When MakeMKV cannot decrypt a disk, it generates a dump file which should be emailed to svq@makemkv.com, so the disk's key can be calculated and added to MakeMKV's database.

So if you've been using MakeMKV for two years without understanding dump files then either MakeMKV could already decrypt all your disks, or you have an uncanny ability only to buy those rare unencrypted ones.

yes, i buy very few of them, also due to the fact that in my vicinity such item seem no longer to be sold , so whenever would have to order via mail. addiotionally i dont own 4k display, so the benefit is marginal atm (very much like the additional enhanced audio tracks, though).

apparently i got "lucky" with the few ones i own, however you wanna see that, my taste is nothing special, and most film that i like could also watch or specially watch also on DVD ~ so i had never had the pleasure of needing to submit such a keyfile or whatever ~ but now i am in the picture and should know waht to do should an event arise that the reader/burner could not read the disc, thanks.

bought an used hd-dvd player, and out of 10+ HD-DVD i bought (5-6 new ones, the other ones "refurbished") only 1 could be actually read; as backup, got an hd-dvd-bluray-burner in the hopes could make backups of those, too, but it seems even the burner (although it could detect them atleast) could not "decrypt" or properly read them "lots of errors".
so it seems , the hd-dvd is quite prone to reading errors; (or just got pretty trashy items for a change) ; nevertheless, will stick to bluray in the foreseable future. but the one hd-dvd that read, quite looked aewsome. (a pity that universal region-free disc have not succeeded yet).
