Public KeyDB Disc Submissions

Post by keydb_helper »

Hi everyone, I've created this thread to act as a central location for posting disc dump file submissions for the public keydb. Thank you to the moderation team for allowing this thread to be trialed.

I hope this will lead to less issues caused by large file attachments and reduce confusion regarding the state of native title support in MakeMKV.

What is the public keydb?
The public keydb (key database) is a community run initiative which provides a database of keys for decrypting Blu-ray discs. The public keydb is independent of MakeMKV but if configured properly MakeMKV can utilise the public keydb to decrypt discs which it does not yet natively support.

Emailing disc dump files to the MakeMKV team is still recommended to assist with native title support.

What is the benefit of providing disc dump files?
If you can provide a suitable disc dump file in this thread, it will be supported by the public keydb within 12 hours. Otherwise you may need to wait days or even weeks for MakeMKV to natively support your disc.

What is a suitable disc dump file?
For the purposes of the public keydb, a suitable disc dump is any disc dump produced by one of the following LibreDrive enabled drives:

Code: Select all

Asus BW-16D1HT
LG BE16NU50
LG BH16NS40
LG BH16NS50
LG BH16NS55
LG BH16NS58
LG BH16NS60
LG BP50NB40
LG BP55EB40
LG BP60NB10
LG BU40N
LG BU50N
LG WH16NS40
LG WH16NS58
LG WH16NS60
LG WP50NB40
Pioneer drives are not supported for the purposes of the public keydb. The disc dump files produced by Pioneer drives can only be processed by the MakeMKV team. If you can provide a disc dump file from one of the listed LG/Asus drives, you will still be able to use a Pioneer drive to decrypt the disc once it has been added to the public keydb

How can UHD discs be added to the public keydb?
Upload your disc dump file produced by one of the aforementioned drives to any file host and post the link in this thread.
Please do not directly attach disc dump files as this causes storage quota issues and a maintenance hassle for the forum administrators.

Partial disc dumps
UHD disc dump files are generally 3-8MB. If your disc dump is less than 1MB, you will need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file when uploading your disc dump file. You can find this file within the AACS folder on your disc. The MKB_RO.inf file may be ~128MB so feel free to zip it before uploading it.

This is great! Bumping it up so it stays visible for people. Maybe it should be stickied.
