I ordered a BU40 on Sunday and received it on the next Wednesday (international shipping to Finland), handling the order and shipping it was very swift. I'm very happy with the order too, everything is working as expected.

I didn't even realize that I bought my previous drive from Asmcom as well back in 2022 via eBay, I only found out when I searched my emails regarding this latest order. The drive that I bought in 2022 is still working without issues, this new one is for contingency since the drives seem to run out everywhere.

I really recommend people to get the last ones from the next (and last) batch!

I think I saw somewhere that Asmcom customers can buy a licence for MakeMKV for a discount, does that offer still stand and how could that be redeemed?

Review for the "Hitachi BU40N Blu-ray Writer Drive + Vantec NST-510S3-BK Enclosure, firmware 1-03MK, Asmcom's Stable Power Loom" package as well as their service. Arrival, today.

• Hardware:
  The entire setup works perfectly as intended. All of the plugs hold well in their sockets, the drive showed up in file explorer without issues, and reads the discs without issue.
  Initial test rips were the "LotR - Fellowship Ext. p1" UHD disc and "Angels Egg" UHD disc. Both ripped, again, without issue. I cannot speak for any power instability issues while ripping that may have been prevented, so i assume that the power loom is working exactly as intended

• Website and Service:
  While the website may look a bit rough, it works perfectly and lacks any of the picture and video bloat that seems to creep in everywhere nowadays.
  Getting to the products, selecting add-ons and firmware(with a thorough listing of supported software for each version) are all straightforward. This is then capped
  with a review screen before heading to payment. Payment instructions are clear and thorough. I found that personally helpful as i hadn`t encountered this specific type of Paypal transaction before. E-Mail correspondence was also very clean and to the point with its instructions and information.
  Package dispatch was planned for a week after i had placed my order, but ended up ready and dispatched sooner. I even got an upgrade to express shipment for free as well on top. Thank you very much for that! =) The outer packaging was fairly close in size to the product and tightly pollstered with foam beans. The instruction pamphlet for the drive enclosure was also included. Its not needed for operation but always good to have just in case. And lastly for this section, the treat-packs of gummibears were found, were and are very much appreciated, and were enjoyed while watching the first rip go thru. ^^

Overall, i was fairly nervous at the start, as this is was not exactly a cheap purchase to make. But between all the things listed above, i would argue that its well worth the premium you'd pay over setting things up yourself.

We are pleased to confirm that we are expecting a large delivery of our Asmcom Stable Power 5V Power Adapters and Asmcom USB Stable Power Type-C Looms on Monday, 3rd August or Tuesday, 4th August.

We also received the balance of our BP55 and BU40N drive order yesterday, so everything is on schedule for next week.

All currently out-of-stock items will be back in stock as soon as the new shipment arrives.

That's exciting to hear, thanks! To clarify, does the mean I should wait to order since more stock of everything will available soon as well as the US power adapter bundled with drives? Or, when you say that you received the balance of your BP55 and BU40N order that there will be no more of those.

Yes, within the next 10–14 days we expect to have everything back in stock – including Asmcom Stable Power Looms, Hitachi BP55 & BU40N drives, and power supplies for all countries, including the US.

Just to clarify, these will be the final brand-new Hitachi BU40N drives available. We purchased the last production batches manufactured by Hitachi, consisting mainly of December 2025 production, with a small quantity from September 2025.

So, if you're planning to purchase one, there will be another opportunity once the new shipment arrives. However, once these final batches are sold, there will be no more new Hitachi BU40N drives available.

Hopefully everything will arrive within 10 days, but to be on the safe side, please allow up to 14 days.
