Read the first post carefully. Asmcom will only be selling slimline LG drives, not 5.25" units. Asmcom is based in the UK, so shipping to Germany will involve additional import fees (the UK is no longer in the EU, unfortunately).

According to search.php?author_id=26102&sr=posts he ships from Nothern Ireland, so there's no problem with Customs to EU countries.

@asmcom can you please confirm this?

Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for your patience and support over the past few months. We know the delays have been frustrating, and we genuinely appreciate everyone who has stuck with us while we worked to get everything right.

I am pleased to confirm that we are now ready to reopen our website on Monday, 27th July 2026.

As many of you know, we made the decision to improve our new Asmcom USB Stable Power Looms by increasing the cable length from 100cm to 200cm and using a heavier gauge wire to ensure the best possible performance and power stability. Although this delayed the project, we believe it was the right decision.

The second prototype looms performed brilliantly during testing. We successfully tested 12 BD100 UHD discs using both the Hitachi BP55 cross-flashed to BP60NB10 1-00MK and the Hitachi BU40N running firmware 1-03MK, installed in the Vantec NST-510S3-BK enclosure.

Every disc was read successfully with no read errors whatsoever. Testing was carried out using both a Mac Mini M4 Pro and a Dell Precision M7740.

We are also pleased to confirm that mass production has now been completed, and we have received our full shipment of Asmcom USB Stable Power Looms.

Thanks for sticking with us on this. We have now received all of our looms, and over the last 10 days we have been busy preparing a selection of UK, EU and US parcels. Each parcel will contain a new Hitachi drive, power supply and an Asmcom USB Stable Power Loom, all fully tested and ready for dispatch.

We are excited to begin shipping orders again and look forward to helping both new and existing customers.

Thank you once again for your continued patience, support and encouragement throughout this project. We couldn't have done it without you.

I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me if I'm asking obvious questions. But what is the difference between the two different firmwares? (BU40N 1-00DE and 1-00MK) How do I know what to get?

Also, on your first post it mentions a special offer for forum members. It says something about using "weblinks below." Where are these links, though? All I see is images, but they don't link to anywhere other than where the image is hosted. Again, sorry if the answer is obvious and I'm just missing something.

I purchased 2 drives from you earlier in the year so have no need for a third drive

There is no such thing as BU40N 1.00-MK firmware. There is only BU40N 1.00. All of these firmware files are "DE" (downgrade enabled) but the original BU40N 1.00 firmware is UHD compatible and libredrive enabled as is, so there was no need to try and create a MK version of it.
