Hello everyone.

My device have been shipped today (although originally it was planned for 11 February), and I received a UPS mail saying it will probably arrive tomorrow (it's an international shipping). I will share my experience with UPS once I have the drive.

I will try to rent some UHD discs tomorrow, and maybe this weekend I will be able to test the drive and share my experience here.

Imagine my delight at finding an order confirmation (with a personal message) AND the UPS shipping notice in my inbox this morning. It'll take a few days for the drive to wing its way across the Atlantic, but I'm very excited to get the new drive. I haven't ripped physical media in almost 20 years, but this is the year I'm finally get a 4k TV (C'mon Sony! Announce your 2026 TVs already!) and I'll be damned if I'm going to put up with streaming for my favourite flicks.

I think there is big problem with sending order confirmation from asmcom. E-mails are not reaching the recipient; they are not in the spam folder either. However, standard communication via the website or through the Thunderbird client works without any issues for the email address orders@uhdfriendlydrives.co.uk.

Iam still waiting for order confirmation.

I paid for 2026-02-0120 order yesterday. It is second order beacuse first order was canceled and refunded. I dont know whats od going on? I havent any message about last order. Is still valid or when it will be send?

Can you please update here? Your order is dispatched, have you not received messages?

You have sent me 2 emails. When I get hit with 300 orders in one day, they all can't be progressed in 24 hours. Hope you understand.

Sorry to burst the Sony TV bubble, but they are now out of the TV business. They sold the majority stake of their TV business to TCL (January, 2026): Sony just handed its TV business to TCL.

My device have been shipped today (although originally it was planned for 11 February), and I received a UPS mail saying it will probably arrive tomorrow (it's an international shipping). I will share my experience with UPS once I have the drive.

Correcting myself: it seems the UPS email saying I would receive the disc today was one of their usual lies (honestly, one day for an international shipment would have been surprisingly fast). When you check their tracking link, it says it’s in the UK waiting to be shipped. I’ve dealt with UPS in the past, and in my experience it’s one of the worst companies, but in the end my packages have always arrived, so it’s just a matter of patience. Of course, that’s not @asmcom’s fault, and all companies are clearly problematic, after all.

Hello everyone.

I must say I am amazed at Asmcom's efficiency and the excellent service even with all the extra work that was created for him

I ordered my drive shortly after 9am on Wednesday and recieved an email requesting payment a few minutes later

I sent the payment and recieved another email in minutes saying the order was accepted and payment was recieved with a shipment date on or before the 11th February

I recieved an email from Asmcom yesterday saying my drive had shipped and also some more emails with tips and trick on caring for and using the drive

I recieved an email from UPS yesterday saying my delivery would be between 10:15 and 12:15 this morning

I recieved an email from UPS this morning saying my delivery has been rescheduled as it is still in the UK

UPS in my opinion are the worst delivery service I ever had to deal with

I just finished building a new PC and ordered most of the parts from Germany as it was cheaper and no extra VAT or customs due to Ireland been in the EU

Each time it was UPS and every delivery I was expecting was either delayed by up to 3 days or returned to retailer

I was really looking forward to getting my new drive today and had lined up a few UHD discs to rip with it

I had the same experience. I'll admit I was a little nervous myself even though I knew that Asmcom most likely was just way too swamped to respond to all emails in time. Yesterday he did personally confirm my second order though and I also already received a shipping notification even though I assured Asmcom that I am not in a hurry to get the drive along with another email providing instructions for using different ripping methods. Honestly, I didn't even receive the drive yet but I can already tell that he provides great customer service!

I was thinking about ripping my BR collection for a long time but I could just never quite get myself to go down this rabbit hole.. so I very much appreciate the service Asmcom provides to make the life easier for beginners like me - thank you (as well as the developers of the ripping programm and all the very helpful people on this forum of course).

You mentioned on the forum that you are unable to receive emails from us. We have sent several emails to the address provided on your order, but none appear to have been received. Our email address is **orders@uhdfriendlydrives.co.uk**.

Your drive has been fully tested and was ready for dispatch this morning. However, as we were unable to communicate with you via email, we had no choice but to **cancel and refund your order**.

We still have your drive in stock and reserved under your name. We would be very happy to complete your order, but we need a working email address so that we can communicate with you properly. We have sent multiple emails from **orders@uhdfriendlydrives.co.uk** without any response, so unfortunately we currently have no way of contacting you.

We have not experienced any email issues with other customers today, so this appears to be an isolated delivery problem. We did have a brief technical issue on the first day when we changed our account password, which was not immediately updated in our website code. This meant that your initial welcome email was not sent.

This issue was quickly resolved, and we were able to clearly see which emails had failed. Since then, we have successfully contacted and communicated with all customers, except yourself.

Just to confirm:

1. Your order has been cancelled and fully refunded.
2. Your drive is still reserved under your name.

I think alot of companies are not aware of UPS's antics.

Most companies, once the item has left their premises they tell you to contact the courier if you ring to complain about a shipment been delayed. I just ring them to let them know about the delay, not neccessarily complaining about it

Our UPS driver was unable to reach our location yesterday, as the electric company was installing new poles and the road was closed due to excavation work.

UPS collected 150 parcels around 30 minutes ago. These have now gone to the depot and will be dispatched on Monday, as UPS does not operate collections on Saturdays.

We just wanted to provide you with the full facts. UPS has never lost a parcel for us.

I'm pretty sure it is a "coupon" or discount on MakeMKV - not a direct purchase from Asmcom. Purchase are directly from MakeMKV.

I did receive a message from Asmcom that adding £25 to the order would suffice, though anyone considering this may wish to check for themselves first.

Unfortunately, the requirement to have a Paypal account has put paid to my chances here. While I was able to create one, Paypal immediately limited it (so no payments) unless I provided identity documents using a smartphone - which I don't have for privacy/security reasons (even if I had, they apparently take three days to verify before lifting limits).

It's a great shame that no other payment options are offered, because Paypal have come across as the most customer-hostile pain-in-the-proverbial entity I've ever dealt with (with multiple emails, text messages and a card transaction before you get that "limited account" message). Heck, you can't even close an account if they have limited it.

On the bright side, someone else will have a shot at a couple of Pioneer drives.

The license is £39.99, this was a mistake by admin.
