Hi @coopervid,
Thank you very much for the PM!
Before I upgraded the firmware I looked into MakeMKV again an realised that the status actually says "Enabled", just like in my initial message that I posted in the form. I must have missed that because I'm 100% sure it stated "Possible, not yet enabled", the first time I started MakeMKV.
Between both outputs changing I have only started SDFtool Flascher (v1.3.6) but didn't flash anything.
So, my question is, do I need to flash my drive with the fw you provided (S8F01430.100 & S8F01431.102) or is that not necessary.

Libredrive enabled doesn't equal UHD capability. If you want to read UHDs you MUST flash the drive with the package you have now.

Hello, friends!

Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD08
Revision: 1.02
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2022-12-27
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 60

LibreDrive Information

Drive platform: RS9330
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-BDS8

No. The firmware is post 11/2022 and cannot be cross-flashed at this stage. You will have to wait for possible future cross-flash support.
Thanks so much for the clarification!

This a UHD drive. It's already libredrive enabled and is ready to rip UHD discs. Pop in a UHD disc and start ripping it!
Cheers :D

Update 2: the drive physically says "BDR-UD04TBD" on the outside. (I'm adding this information so it may benefit others.)

Update: I figured it out. I needed an SDF update (manually downloaded sdf.bin, placed it in %UserProfile%\.MakeMKV
and fully shut down then turned the computer back on.) Not sure why MakeMKV didn't download the newest SDF file, it's a new install.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

Post by Webraider72 »

Good evening,

Here are the credentials of my drive. This Is the first time it has shown status Enabled for LibreDrive since I owned it and it was one of the dreadful firmware 1.03 which wasn't supported initially. As this is a UHD "capable" drive, Do I still need to flash it to rip UHD? I have a Mac by the way, and don't have access to windows. Thank you in advance!
