So, Verbatim 43888 should be a good choice (I won't burn BRs) if it comes with a Pioneer?
Buying on Amazon we can always return it.
As I said in those links, it'll probably come with a BU40N these days and that's not a terrible drive that you can flash yourself.
If you've only got the money for one drive and you really want a Pioneer and you're in the UK, waiting for Asmcom's store to open is perhaps the way to go.
If you don't want to wait for Asmcom and you want a Pioneer and you're willing to seek the non-public tools to cross flash a drive, seek Coopervid or email Billycar11.

But none of them are from Schengen area, right? That would mean import fees and, probably, high shipping costs.
If that Verbatim is considered good to rip BR, it would be great since Amazon.es sells it.

We have to be honest and tell you that we have had a 5% failure rate with Verbatim drives. The retail Pioneer drives are 100% reliable.

Many thanks Asmcom,
One doesn't see that kind of honesty much from businesses. Hence a big Thanks
As I'm myself looking for the Panasonic drive I'm hopefully safe

Could I get some advice on a drive please? I am in England and looking to purchase a desktop drive (not sure if there is a difference between slim drives and PC drives with an enclosure?) for ripping a large 4k collection using a laptop, and stored on a NAS. I'm hoping to use makemkv and also remux part of my 3D collection with Atmos.
I've not used any of this equipment before so recommendations (or things to avoid) would be appreciated! I'd prefer to buy a simple plug and play drive, (Pioneer sound like best recommended?) Rather than having to flash myself as im not sure how to do this. Please let me know if any other info would be helpful, and what you recommend. Many thanks

That's amazing some choice of drives, actually don't know what one to pick as there is so many, I wonder if anyone in group has any firm recommendations.
Great to see you back. I have a problem at checkout because the SMS verification doesn't seem to work? My mobile number is from Germany, so I've put in +49 at the start. The verification SMS hasn't arrived yet?
