I joined the forum a couple of days ago as this is an entirely new world to me. I came across this thread after flashing my LG Slim Drive (BP50NB40, SVC: NB40) from 2014 and realized that it wanted a new retirement life as a paperweight. Unfortunately, I missed the part about the drive being too old. :D

While shopping at my local Best Buy for a replacement, I searched online to make sure that the LG replacement (BP50NB40, SVC: NB52) was compatible. No more paperweights! I was pleasantly surprised to find this thread and that Alex provided his number for customer service. What a God send!

However, I didn't realize he was selling drives, but asked if he could flash the drive that I was purchasing. He said he could, if I ship the drive out to him. I asked if he did remote flashing and he emphatically discouraged me from ever allowing anyone to do that. Instead, he offered to guide me through the entire process. He was incredibly pleasant, patient, helpful and honest throughout our entire text and email correspondences. He never once mentioned payment and cost for his assistance. He emailed me a zipped folder with all of the required files and guided me step-by-step. After bricking one drive, this was certainly reassuring to have an expert's live support. Once all was said and done, I was relieved and excited to venture into this new world of preserving my collection. Grateful for his assistance and having met a genuinely pleasant person wanting to help, I asked Alex how I could repay him for his generous support. It was only then that he mentioned how I could help by way of a donation and a review. I was happy to do both!

So now here I am, writing this testimonial. It's so refreshing to meet folks who are genuinely pleasant and willing to offer a helping hand. I can highly recommend Alex's services! Thank you again!

I purchased a second ASUS BW-16D1HT as a backup, and as usual the transaction was excellent.
Thank you Alex!

Yo man,

It’s been a minute. You happen to know this guy Klaus from Germany? The dude that hooks people up with the hacked Pioneer flasher?

Saw something on Reddit sayin' he's out in Rheinau, Germany, and that he shut down Redfox and bounced. All I’m after is that hacked Pioneer flasher, though.

Catch you later... Jay..

I got an email this morning and it looks like Alex is getting out of the business. Sad to see him go but I've been very happy with my drive, and it seems thousands of you all have been as well. I'm picking up a spare while he's still got drives in stock, so get them while you can!

Email follows:
Long time no speak. I hope all is well.
Hey so I'm shutting down my business and have some drives left to sell. Would you be interested in picking up another to replace your primary or use as a backup for when the primary wears out? Now is a good time to get one :-)
Anyways, that's enough from me. Let me know if you're interested and thank you for your support in the past!

What can I say......
Alex Coluzzi has got to be the most honest and trustworthy guy I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with over the interwebz.

On the 19th of June I bit the bullet and bought the Cadillac of drives in its housing , via PayPal friends.....with some trepidation as it's not a small amount without PayPal protection.
I had chatted with him previously, and that and people's recommendations decided it for me and I took the risk

I live in the UK so stuff from America can be a costly import if stopped.

He notified me in few weeks that it was out for postage and I waited, and waited and then tracked it.....til it finally said I can collect it from the depot....in California 😱
Anyway....I contacted Alex who got onto the case, and found out they have changed the postal requirements etc etc (not just for mine I believe) and he was going to have to collect them all and re package and post them all out again....at his cost.

Well.to cut a long story short,.....Alex Coluzzi was true too his word ,.and last Saturday I received my package, all perfectly packed (ingeniously by reversing the drive case box👍🏻) and there was no added import duty 😉🤗🤗.

So I would suggest if your going to purchase something this expensive, from someone you don't know in real life then Alex is the guy to go to .....

Many thanks Alex from the other side of the Atlantic.....your a truly ,honest, one in a million nice guy

Peace and love

Bought and received a great Drive from Alex - no issues. I did ask him about the post a few back in this thread, about him emailing former customers and that he was getting out of the business. I don't its true from what he said. I suppose he could post to clear that up, but he seemed confused that someone would say that.

I am in the process of converting my extensive DVD and Blu-Ray collection to mp4 files for storage on my Asustor Flashstor NAS. After considerable success, I “hit the wall” when I began trying to convert my Blu-Rays. WinX DVD Ripper Platinum does not support Blu-Ray conversion, and both MakeMKV and Handbrake failed.

Searching various forums, I discovered I needed a Blu-ray drive that had been flashed to be “Libre” enabled, which could be purchased from alexcoluzzi32@gmail.com. I contacted Alex about flashing my existing drive (very old) and he advised it could not be flashed into being Libre enabled. He provided a list of the Libre enabled drives he sold and I decided to purchase the ASUS BW-16D1HT. The purchase was easily made via PayPal and arrived safely a couple of days later. I swapped out my existing Blu-Ray drive for the ASUS, placing in my existing Vantec NexStar DX enclosure, and verified my computer had the correct drivers already installed (it did). I then tried my first Blu-Ray conversion to mp4, first creating an mkv file, using MakeMKV (which now recognizes my drive as Libre enabled), then an mp4 file, using Handbrake. Within 15 minutes, it was done! This has provided a very fast solution to my ripping/conversion issue and I have since been able to convert quite a few Blu-Rays and place them onto my Asustor Flashstor NAS for viewing on any of our devices via the Plex server.

I could not be more pleased and highly recommend you consider this vender if you have the same need. Kudos Alex!

Ordered a Asus drive to be shipped to the UK. Alex was great to work with sorted out a great deal including shipping the case and USB-C cable and arrived very quick. A pleasure doing buisness with would reccomend if you are looking for one of these drives without the pain of learning how flash a drive and worrying about doing it wrong or bricking your device. 5 star service.
