What are the chances the BDR-213 from amazon would come with older firmware?
amazon US pretty much 0% chance you get one with old fw

I found these two locally. Can the firmware be upgraded on them to support UHD ripping?

1. LG WH16NS40, 1.02 firmware, manufactured 1/09/2017 (What year is the cutoff date for these again?)

2. Pioneer BDR-209DBK Manufactured 9/2016. (Can this be firmware upgraded to rip UHD?)

Thanks.

Ask Asmcom? They sell a range of LibreDrive-compatible external Pioneer drives, and are based in the UK. I believe they would also ship to Germany.

1. Not recommended. You will have issues with reading of some discs.

2. Maybe if it hasn't been updated. Buy a Vinpower 212V and post again when it's on its way.

OK Do you think.it will be flash-able in the future . I still have my BU40N for ripping I guess what I'm asking now is if the 2213 is better then the 212v. (Alot better) Cause I need a new drive , and the 212v says 2024 on it so I pretty sure it has new FW i havent check yet ,but I can get the 2213 for 10 dollars more. Is with worth it ?

New members' first few public posts are moderated, probably to prevent spammers. PMs become available after 3 or 4 public posts have been approved.

I ordered this one. What do I do when it arrives? Or does it work as is?
