yes, my RPUs are P8 synced and ready to be injected.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 12:56 amcan I use the .bin files in your RPU folder? I just checked one and they were P8, not P5?

Using 6-2 on my copy of Batman Begins, I get %frames with MaxCLL > 1000 = 12.78 and >2000 = 0. So do I set the MDL to 2000, as that's the lowest level of the available options that includes the maximum brightness?I measure brightness with 6-2 and select MDL accordingly. Can you expand on selecting MDL based on content actual brightness? I guess there is a workflow for identifying the content brightness, and based on that I pick from one of the fixed 1000/2000/4000 options?

thanks, and given that 6-2 creates measurements, can they be reused to speed up 3-1?

yes rename the 6-2 generated RPU the same as your mkv input and run 3-1

Many thanks. What's the consequence of selecting the MDL as 2000 vs 4000 nits in 3-1 for something like Batman Begins? Would 4000 make the image render on my TV as slightly darker?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
that would explain why my conversion of Thor looks a touch dark, according to MediaInfo the MDL is 4000. For some titles MediaInfo reports values of MaxCLL but based on a first check, with Batman Begins, the value is nowhere near correct. So presumably should ignore MediaInfo fir this key parameter?

When creating hybrids, what is the recommendation with respect to editing L6 or not?
I primarily watch my hybrids in Dolby Vision, but in some cases I am limited to HDR10. What should I so, update L6 or not?
Thanks!

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
there might be some devices that use L6 when they decode DV as HDR10 but otherwise, it's pretty much useless.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Sorry, follow-up question. If you're watching DV content, with updated L6, on an HDR10-only device. Does it even matter? Or is it only something that a DV device can use? And if you are on a DV-capable device, and playing back in DR10, is it better to update the L6 or not? Sorry... I clearly need to do more reading on L6.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 12:02 amthere might be some devices that use L6 when they decode DV as HDR10 but otherwise, it's pretty much useless.
Appreciate the guidance!

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
if the device sends the static L6 metadata to the TV, yes. For example, on the ugoos, unless you specify an HDR10 string in the menu, it sends LLDV in HDR10 without static metadata which is not ideal. Preferably, you want to send a maxcll or MDL value that matches your EDID target so the TV can use the best static tone mapping curve for the image brightness it receives. If you're watching DV content, with updated L6, on an HDR10-only device. Does it even matter?
However, it also depends on whether your TV uses MDL or maxcll for HDR10.

Here's a DV profile 4? (SDR HEVC BL?) file I came across from someone linking on Plex forums:
