I post only the ones that expand brightness in that section of the spreadsheet. Look at the other tabs below, there's one called ''screenshot comparisons'' where I do the ones that don't expand brightness.

Another issue with 3-2 for me, this time on a HDR10 file. Happens when madvr measurement is supposed to take place:

I redownloaded the tools folder, tried the latest beta, and also older versions to no avail. Any suggestions to what i have messed up this time?
*edit*: Never mind, rolling LAV Filters back to stable (0.79.2) did the trick.

Sorry if this is off-topic but what is the best playback using Windows on a PC ultrawide monitor?
I’ve purchased the AM6B+ for my OLED TVs but I would also like to play my UHD remuxes on my ultrawide monitor.
My ultrawide does support HDR (not Dolby vision) but it’s not great.

If I own the Sony X700, is it worth it to buy the Ugoos AM6 Plus? Will there be improvements in picture quality?

MPC-HC (or BE) + madvr(best upscaler) or Windows Energy player (support DV decoding in HDR10 or SDR)

If your TV is CMV4.0, yes. if not, it's still more practical to watch DV movie in mkv container via the network.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 9:15 amIf I own the Sony X700, is it worth it to buy the Ugoos AM6 Plus? Will there be improvements in picture quality?
I use the plex ''composite'' addon with Arctic Zephyr skin. You can configure it to work exactly like plex.Mrmorrison wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 7:00 amGood morning guys, what addons do you use on Kodi for Plex?

Thanks for the reply. My tv is Sony A95L. How can I find out whether it is CMV4.0 or 2.9?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 11:08 amIf your TV is CMV4.0, yes. if not, it's still more practical to watch DV movie in mkv container via the network.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 9:15 amIf I own the Sony X700, is it worth it to buy the Ugoos AM6 Plus? Also, do you have a video that shows the difference in image quality between CMV4.0 on the Ugoos vs CMV2.9 on the X700?

Try this in your TV internal player:deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 11:27 amThanks for the reply. My tv is Sony A95L. How can I find out whether it is CMV4.0 or 2.9?
1000nits rpu: https://drive.google.com/file/d/172cFIm ... drive_link
4000nits rpu: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V4glXo ... sp=sharing
if you see brightness adjustments, it supports cmv4.0. If it was made after 2019, it most likely support it.

The black clipping pattern is crushed in cmv2.9 but not in cmv4.0:Also, do you have a video that shows the difference in image quality between CMV4.0 on the Ugoos vs CMV2.9 on the X700?

Since i dont have super uber fast internet, is there any issue with playback via usb?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 12:10 pmTry this in your TV internal player:deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 11:27 amThanks for the reply. My tv is Sony A95L. How can I find out whether it is CMV4.0 or 2.9?

I read your spreadsheet and watched the video where you mentioned most bluray releases are cmv2.9. Since i dont plan to do the "transfer cmv4.0 bloc to a cmv2.9 FEL rpu" (seems quite complicated and time consuming), is getting the ugoos just for cmv4.0 still worth it?

Yes, its a lot better than any other device...
- mkv container is more practical, you can watch makemkv p7 mkvrip without any remuxing/processing to TS.
- Cropped content play properly (no grey black bars)
- gigabit ethernet port
- wifi 6
- no dual track dual layer green screen bug
- no ff/rw bug with long movies
- srt subtitles work
- chapter works
- ISO works
- movie poster, description, rating, tracks info
- Bluetooth remote (x700 remote is garbage). you can also use your TV remote to control it
- playback history/ resuming
Your internet speed and your internal network speed are two different things. In other words, you can stream your movie without an internet connection but USB playback is fine too.Since i dont have super uber fast internet, is there any issue with playback via usb?

Wait, its remote is bluetooth? Will infrared remote still work on it? The reason why I ask is because I use an infrared hub to turn on/off bluray player as part of my smart home automation.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 1:13 pmBluetooth remote (x700 remote is garbage). you can also use your TV remote to control it
The problem is the subtitles are usually overly bright in hdr/dolby vision, so normally I use tsmuxer to extract the subtitle tracks, then use subtitle_tonemap to reduce their brightness, and reattach the new sub tracks to the film and output to either bdmv folder or m2ts/ts. How do I do that now if I want to output to mkv instead?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 1:13 pmmkv container is more practical, you can watch makemkv p7 mkvrip without any remuxing/processing to TS.
All the other things you listed are cool, but I'm mainly concerned about image quality. If the improvement in that department is not substantial enough then I will have to think some more, especially since this device seems to require quite a lot of tinkering to make it work right.
Btw, I just tested the two files you gave:
1000nits rpu: https://drive.google.com/file/d/172cFIm ... drive_link
4000nits rpu: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V4glXo ... sp=sharing
For the 1st file, I didn't see any brightness changes at all. For the 2nd file, I saw the changes only with the first few but none with the rest. What does it say about my tv and cmv4.0 support?

no such issue with SRT subtitles, you 100% control its brightness, colors, size, font etc...The problem is the subtitles are usually overly bright
You can still use tone-mapped PGS in MKV.
It means your TV probably has a DV config higher than 1000nits. But since it responds to the 4000nits RPU, it supports CMV4.0.For the 1st file, I didn't see any brightness changes at all. For the 2nd file, I saw the changes only with the first few but none with the rest. What does it say about my tv and cmv4.0 support?

How do i reattach the tone-mapped PGS to the mkv file?

Thanks. Guess there's one more software to learn.
