Seriously!?!? If you can't follow very simple basic instructions then there's something is wrong with you. It can't be explained any easier than the above 4 steps. It looks like you have done step 1. Now do the rest.Buzzlite1926 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 5:08 amv1.15.2 or greater installed and that the drive is empty and tray closed.
To flash the BP50NB40 SVC:NB52, using the latest SDFtool Flasher, follow the steps below:
1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK.
Now for the cross-flash:
2. Select the RECOVERY option and in the pop up window, select the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK firmware that you just flashed.
3. Select the BU40N 1.00 firmware in the normal drop box.
4. Click START

Re: SDFtool Flasher
NO. You have already flashed BP50NB40 1.03-MK firmware to the drive so the firmware is no longer encrypted. SDFtool Flasher should show a red X for it and a green tick for drive platform.

I flash my LG-BP50NB40 external Blu-ray player and can read 4K discs, doing this:
Check to see if you have SVC:NB52 look under your Blu-ray drive sticker
Open SDFtool Flasher, click write firmware, and choose, HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin Click Start to Flash Firmware wait until finish Flash
Now to downgrade to 1.00 to read 4K discs:
Click RECOVER Drive, and choose firmware, DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK_HBD.bin
Click Start, Check your Blu-ray Drive in MakeMKV info, it should be version 1.0 when finish.

Before you begin, ensure you have MakeMKV v1.15.2 or greater installed and that the drive is empty and tray closed.
To flash the BP50NB40 SVC:NB52, using the latest SDFtool Flasher, follow the steps below:
1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK.

3. Select the BU40N 1.00 firmware in the normal drop box.
4. Click START
If you follow these steps exactly it should work.
I have a LG-BP50NB40 external slim Blu-ray player which is SVC:NB52. I flash it to HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin, than recover it to DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK_HBD.bin, and I can read 4K discs, everything is working ok. But you mention (Also I recommend you use the BU40N 1.00 firmware as it is better than the BP60NB10 firmware.) What's the differences between DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK_HBD.bin and BU40N 1.00, should I flash it to BU40N, or stay with DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK_HBD.bin?
BU40N 1.00 is better than BP60NB10 firmware as it is compatible with all popular ripping software. BP60NB10 firmware only works with MakeMKV and AnyDVD software.
Can you link me the thread or download link for BU40N 1.00 firmware, as I can't find it? Thanks

No, you shouldn't tell people that. Those hybrid firmware versions I created years ago should no longer be used. They were made redundant when the new flashing method came about.( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 5:45 amWhen I tried to do it, and was reading the guide and users comments it was confusing, and not properly mention, in the guideBuzzlite1926 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 5:08 amv1.15.2 or greater installed and that the drive is empty and tray closed.

This is how I got my LG-BP50NB40 external slim Blu-ray player drive to read 4K discs, or to downgrade to 1.0, it seems to be working all fine, I can read, burn, rip 4K discs no problem. I was reading some newer post and users still download your (BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty) and have used it on LG-BP50NB40 external Blu-ray player to read 4K discsMartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 5:51 amNo, you shouldn't tell people that.
