Re: AACS 2.1 support
I don''t believe that is the issue. This worked fine before I updated the OS on my MacBook. And I do not believe the firmware on my Pioneer has changed since it worked
Re: AACS 2.1 support
Do you have any MakeMKV log files from before you updated your MacBook's OS? I am wondering if the update process quietly updated your drive's firmware at the same time .Mike_Copy_Di wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 3:39 pmThis worked fine before I updated the OS on my MacBook. Re: AACS 2.1 support
This is the first time we have heard of this. We are running the latest version of Mac OS, and this upgrade has not happened on any of our drives. Forced updates is something we have not seen.MrPenguin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 7:13 pmDo you have any MakeMKV log files from before you updated your MacBook's OS? Re: AACS 2.1 support
I can look for the log files and check the dates. Where can I find them on my MacBook Pro??

Could you post in the MAC OS on MakeMKV as there is some Apple experts in this area.
Please post exactly how you became aware that the drive auto updated the firmware automatically and hopefully someone will workout what is going on. Do you have any third party software installed for updating programs / firmware?

Re: AACS 2.1 support
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I have no reason to believe the firmware for the Pioneer was updated.
I do believe that the issue was caused by the MacOS update.

Earlier you implied that your drive previously supported UHD discs:Mike_Copy_Di wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:49 amSorry for the misunderstanding. I have no reason to believe the firmware for the Pioneer was updated.

If you were previously able to use your Pioneer drive to backup UHD discs, it must have been with a different firmware version. MakeMKV has never supported UHD titles with the firmware currently installed on your drive. It is possible that MakeMKV will never support your firmware version.Mike_Copy_Di wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 3:33 amSince my Mac has updated to Sequoia I have not been able to copy UHD discs.
Blu-Ray and DVD copy fine.
Regardless of whether the drives firmware update was installed automatically or accidentally, there is nothing you can do at this point to restore UHD support. It is not a macOS issue, or some incompatibility with Sequoia. Your drive would have the exact same issue with Linux and Windows.

Re: AACS 2.1 support
The drive did and I have movies on my hard drive that I ripped using the Pioneer drive.
Re: AACS 2.1 support
If you still want to rip UHDs you should move on and get a new drive. PM me for recommendations. And BTW - this has nothing to do with AACS 2.1 support and should be posted as a separate topic.Mike_Copy_Di wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 4:17 pmThe drive did and I have movies on my hard drive that I ripped using the Pioneer drive.
