Re: UHD FAQ
Nalor fixed the issue. I just did a synchronize in KeyDB Assistant and everything works now.
Re: UHD FAQ
No one can. It's broken. Nalor will have to fix FindVUK. Has nothing to do with KeyDB Assistant at all.

Re: Stranger Things UHD
Or like I said, use KeyDB Assistant and just click the backup button.
Re: UHD FAQ
I have zero control over what makemkvcon outputs, so, no none of that is going to change.

Re: Stranger Things UHD
Anyone on windows and still having problems with these discs should grab my KeyDB Assistant. It can help with these non encrypted discs.

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Good to know my original understanding was on the right track.
The MK for that Spaceballs variant has been in the keydb since April 2025 and the VID wasn't obfuscated as the disc dump was generated with a Buffalo branded BU40N variant. The verification data in the dump file indicates that bus ...

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Sorry about that ShootTheCore. I think I may have misunderstood how the KeyDB Assistant tool processes partial disc dump files. Glad to hear you are all good now.
No it should have worked. If there was an MK available it should have been able to calculate the UK. The only exception would be ...
Re: UHD FAQ
Nice work on the update, those are some really neat inclusions.
Thanks, yea I thought they might prove useful. Given that my work is mostly a front end for findvuk and makemkv, scripting the backup call to makemkvcon wasn't a huge lift. The logic around dealing with unencrypted discs with bogus ...

No.MartyMcNuts wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2026 4:31 am So, in your Disc Info comment, can you add the steps so people know what to do?
1. Backup to folder (leave decrypt unchecked)
2. Delete the AACS directory
3. Open index.bdmv in MakeMKV
4. Create MKV file.
Re: UHD FAQ
Yea that’s all findvuk under the covers. Disc info is mine. They really don’t interact at all.

Re: Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair UHD rip not progressing
Yes. Nothing I have can play that actual layer from an MKV anyway. The TVs show they are playing Dolby Vision, but they aren't actually playing the FEL layer.
Besides, I still have the ISOs of the rips, from Xreveal. So, I can always go back to it if I ever need to. And run MakeMKV on it.
The ...

Re: Stranger Things UHD
When I get a minute I need to test those discs with my KeyDB Assistant. In theory, it should detect that they're not AACS encrypted and warn you when you do a Disc Info function. I haven't yet ripped my set but will be doing so this week and when I get to those discs I'll see if the detection works.

Re: Stranger Things UHD
Thanks for the reply. Interesting. So are you saying to literally copy the contents from the disc to hard drive, say with Windows File Explorer and essentially ignore/do not copy the AACS directory then point MakeMKV to that copied folder structure?
Sure or use the MakeMKV Backup function and ...
