Stranger Things UHD
Re: Stranger Things UHD
Just to clarify in case anybody tries this: You still need to use MakeMKV/LibreDrive support because otherwise they'll still be protected with bus encryption.SimplyLearning wrote: Mon Aug 03, 2026 5:56 pmThanks for the reply. Interesting. So are you saying to literally copy the contents from the disc to hard drive, say with Windows File Explorer and essentially ignore/do not copy the AACS directory then point MakeMKV to that copied folder structure?SamuriHL wrote: Mon Aug 03, 2026 3:59 pm Yes, they're not encrypted. This has been established in several threads already. Backup to folder, delete the AACS directory, and it'll open just fine in MakeMKV.
(This is only true for certain discs)

The Direct WorkaroundInsert the Disc: Open MakeMKV on your machine.
Create a Full Disc Backup: Click the Backup icon (it looks like a yellow folder) instead of the large disc icon.Keep Decrypt Unchecked:
When the backup window pops up, uncheck the box that says "Decrypt video files," choose a storage directory, and click OK.
Delete the AACS Folder: Once the backup completes, navigate into the created backup folder on your drive and completely delete the AACS folder.
Open the Backup File: Go to File -> Open file in the MakeMKV menu, navigate to the BDMV folder inside your backup, and select the index.bdmv file. MakeMKV will load the episodes normally, and you can rip them straight to MKV from there.
Re: Stranger Things UHD
Or like I said, use KeyDB Assistant and just click the backup button.
