Problem with Steven Wilson - Drive Home

Post by cyborg »

I have some problems with Steven Wilson's Blu-ray "Drive Home". The Blu-ray consists of several m2ts-files, which each contain a song. If I rip the Blu-Ray, the songs are combined in the mkv file. But there are some important frames dropped, which leads to one track missing the first milliseconds of its audio.

The log file:
MakeMKV v1.8.11 win(x64-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Users\user/MakeMKV_log.txt
Using direct disc access mode
Title #00000.mpls has length of 14 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 2400 seconds and was therefore skipped
File 00007.mpls was added as title #0
Title #00002.m2ts has length of 4 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 2400 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #00014.m2ts has length of 227 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 2400 seconds and was therefore skipped

MakeMKV drops some overlapping frames. MakeMKV probably drops the frames at the beginning of the m2ts file, which leads to missing audio at the beginning of one song.

When I directly open the mpls-file with MPC-HC, the audio is not missing and everything is fine.

Is there anything I can do to change this?

MakeMKV is trying to make the timestamps on the various tracks match up. You might try doing a backup with decryption, then turning Handbrake loose on the file to see whether it can synchronize the audio and video better.
