Question about 3D Bluray...

Is there anything special that I need to do when backing up 3d bluray disks? Are they handled the same as regular blu ray? I assume that my LG 3D Smart tv would be able to play the resulting mkv file the same as it does with 2d content? Sorry for so many noob questions, I've only worked with 2d until now but would like to move up to 3d.

Yes but that post is from 2010. Things change and I'm trying to understand current state/capabilities without rehashing 4 years of history.

Um, the last post in that "old" thread is from Sun Jan 19, 2014 12:24 pm. It has all the information you're looking for. That's why I linked to it. But you can wait for someone to rehash it for you if you'd like.
