mkv files not shown in ps3

i have a problem with my ps3 that is some days ago its show mkv Format file when i plug the usb in ps3 or through media share and i saw some movies mkv format through my ps3.

But now. i do nt know what happend its not showing any mkv format. .


any one know what is problem with my ps3 ?

This really should be in the "MKV file processing and playback" section, but...

When I search for "playing MKV on PS3", I get a LOT of information on how to CONVERT MKV files to something the PS3 will recognize and play.

yes, PS3 doesn't support .mkv natively, you can refer to:

run it through handbrake on a high constant bitrate ,
you wont loose much quality and it will convert the video stream
to the h264 codec which will be identified on your ps3 .
( wont use too much processing power to do it )

Remux MKV's to .TS or .M2TS with TsMuxer if its a supported codec(s)

If it's a codec it won't play use MKV2VOB to transcode A/V streams automatically.
