SDFtools

Post by greerc24 »

I must be doing something wrong.

I wanted a dump of FW on a LG drive and could not figure out how to get it.
I tried SDFtool Flasher (v1.36 and v1.35) and get a cannot flash error while doing a READ.
It says I cannot flash the drive due to a MT1959 error.
But when i use sdftool_flasher.zip and a READ it says creating FW dump but I cannot find it.

I also have it creating FW dump automagicaly on another drive.

Are you properly selecting whether the firmware is encrypted or not?

Unless the firmware is (unencrypted) pre 2020, SDFtool cannot dump the full firmware. It only dumps the cal data. Also, this is only compatibale with the MT1959 drive platform.

Post your MakeMKV drive info and libredrive info sections if you want more help.
Cheers :D

The firmware is from an LG drve that pre 2020. (HL-DT-ST_BDDVDRW_GGC-H20L_1.03_20080515123456_K27841F1801)
It auto read it and I sent it in.

The error is : The drive you have selected does not have the correct drive platform (MT1959) and cannot be flashed.

This the case of just trying to read it, not flash it. SDFTools is selecting it, based on something, and never even lets me choose.
ANYways it just a READ.
