Speed control

Post by Pcbd78 »

Cant get speed control to work. I set the registry values on my bd-drives. Does it only work when ripping? I would like to use it when playing discs. Windows 7 and the latest makemkv.

As far as I'm aware, it only works for ripping. Out of curiosity, why would you want to use it when playing a disc?

So that drive isnt that noisy while playing discs. Theres ofcourse 3rd party speed limit apps but they wont work on my Pioneer BDR-209EBK. Drive has its own quiet mode but i read it slows down the drive to 2x. So slow speed is more prone to defected sectors on the discs. 8x would be slow enough.

You could always just rip the disc and playback the file.

Speed control usually only kicks in when ripping, not during playback. Blu-ray drives tend to auto-adjust speed when playing. You might need third-party software to force it. What drive are you using?
