Makemkv keeps returning 'no disc'. Cleaning didn't work and i can't make out any scratches. Tried a different tile and it is fine.
Could this be a new type of encryption? Or perhaps i need to go through the rigmarole of returning it to fnac....

You aren't even getting to the point of encryption - MakeMKV is not getting data back from the drive, so it says "no disk".

One possibility is that the drive simply does not detect it.

You are probably right although it plays on my player just fine. Another drive needed then i assume?

I have the Hitachi LG BP 55. Is this known to sometimes have this problem?
