Hi,
I ripped a concert DVD using makemkv. This DVD has each song as a separate title instead of chapters of the same title. So, makemkv ripped them to multiple mkv files. Then I used mkvtoolnix to combine them to a single mkv file. The resulting mkv appears to be big enough, but when I play it back, it stops playing towards the end of the first chapter. Is this is a known issue? Are there any workarounds?

Did you add files or append files? Because if you added files, then basically you have one video with multiple "angles".

Try adding each title with "Append" to the previous one. For that you have to rightclick on the first movie part, otherwise "Append files" is greyed out.
Should look e.g. like this:
