Help with mkv files and editing them

So I use OBS to record and I have many videos recorded but I can’t edit them because they are mkv and the beat way I can find to edit them is with Filmora 9 however it has a watermark unless you pay and I wonder if there is a better way or should I just record the videos again but as mp4.

This forum isn't in to "editing MKV files". You will probably not find much help for creating/saving them, other that as the result of ripping commercial disks.
