does unselecting a title also unselect children?

I am a bit confused by what is supposed to happen when I unselect a title. I would expect all children underneath to be unselected as well. But the fact that they are not should indicate that those children items will be included.

What is the expected behavior in the instance? For example, on the attached image, do I have to go down the entire list and unselect all children manually? Or will makeMKV ignore them?

they will be ignored but i can see how that could be confusing that is just what would be included if that title was selected.
