Does anyone here use the Popcorn A-200?

To preface this, I've used Mike's app continuously for a number of months and admire it's streamlined functionality.

I've only had the A-200 for less than a month and love it (my other NMT is the 110). Mine has been updated with both the February and March firmware updates.

.TS/M2TS standalone files and/or muxed into a BD structure play flawlessly...including perfect rendering of .PGS subs and perfect navigation.

However, using MakeMKV only my std definition DVDs have excellent functionality, eg. chapters, subtitles, etc. BD .MKVs will routinely freeze when skipping chapters (audio continues, but video freezes at start of chapter); similarly, MKV PGS subs can be problematic ...they don't appear as Hi-def images as when rendering .TS PGS subs.

Are these issues still to be worked out with Popcorn and the mkv container format? Anyone ?

You'll love the Popcorn (with exception of weirdisms with BD MKVs I'm currently experiencing). I've also posted this in the NMT-A200 forum...I'll keep you updated.

If you could, try to remux the MKv with mkvmergeGUI. And see if you still have the issues.

Mike, are you referring to the "Backup function" with decrypting ? If so, I have used that....and it's flawless. However, that is similar to an .iso image and takes away the benefits of removing extraneous audio, subs, etc..i.e. reducing the size to a manageable single file.

If I'm off base re: what you're referring to..please advise!

I went back and looked at the toolbar after the utility had scanned a disc. Lo and behold..the "Stream" function. Gave it a whirl..end results were perfect..just like tsmuxer result. However, for me there is just too much intermediary copying time (i.e. from the web site to being saved on the local disc. My test reference was Scorcese's "The Departed"...locally I can rip a perfect .ts copy with tsmuxer in 18.5 minutes (I'm using modified firmware on a liteon IHES208). It took over 35 minutes to complete using the roundabout method of "Stream", then copy, etc.

I've also bought a Popcorn A-200 a few weeks ago. That was my first NMT so that I have no REX about that type of device.
Nevertheless, I'm facing the same problems as you, depending on the movie that has been converted.
MKV from BD : On some movies (less than 20Go... size seems to be linked thanks to my really first analysis) Picture freezes when chapter is skipped. Also when I stop and then go back playing to this movie, the picture is still frozen (sound resuming flawless). The last problem is that I can't switch from a language to another.
Note that I've not any problem on ISO BD .

I'm going to look at this "stream" option, hoping that it will solve also my audio language issue .

I've not found any solution to solve the issue. I'm probably a dummy MKV maker...

Open disc in MKV, select stream, navigate to "network" menu in PCH, find "MakeMKV - blu ray disc" streaming server, select title, watch instantly. http://www.makemkv.com/faq/item/5/catid/5
