Firmware version for LG BH16NS40 1.04?

Hello, I have a new LG BH16NS40. What firmware version do I flash to it to get it to work with UHD drives? I cannot find anything specific on this drive. Please help me.

I have spent several days trying to figure out how to correctly flash the correct firmware version to my UHD drive. Please help me. I have an LG BH16NS40. I have searched tirelessly but the firmware that everyone uses online when I google (1.02) is not available on the MakeMKV firmware download pack. Are they cross flashing to the WH16NS40/WH14NS40/another drive? Is that how they get a 1.02 firmware?

Yes, I have read the Ultimate guide. I have read it 5 or 6 times. I have purchased a drive that is on the list, but it was defective and did not work. My friend has a BH16NS40 with 1.02 that works great, so I bought one, but it has 1.04. I cannot figure out how to get this firmware version because MakeMKV unfortunately hasn’t include it in the firmware pck. I have 1.04 installed and just want whatever firmware will work the UHD drives. I see a 1.03 and a 1.05 for the BH16NS40 but the 1.05 is supposed encrypted and I don’t want to brick my drive. The names of the 1.03 firmware are BH16NS40-NS50-1.03, not the expected BH16NS40-1.03. I read that when it has NS50 at the end then they are not interchangeable. So what am I supposed to do? Please help me as I am getting very frustrated.

I tried using the new firmware flash tool from MartcNuts to flash to BH16NS40-NS50-1.03 but it take me an error message that “You cannot flash your drive to this firmware file directly. Please select the appropriate MK firmware file for your drive and try again.”

Forum search for "bh16ns40" finds 239 messages about this exact drive model.

I searched something very similar, but as I said, found nothing specific about this drive and what firmware to use. Many posts on the forums mention using version 1.02 for this model. I cannot find a BH16NS40-SV50-1.02 firmware bin in the official MakeMKV firmware pack after looking over and over again. Could it have been removed?

It's ok though I started choosing firmware from the list and trying to flash that using the new tool on the Ultimate Guide. Turns out WH16NS60 1.02 works. Thank goodness I didn't brick another drive. Maybe someone else who is in need of help will find what they need on this thread:

If you don't know what firmware to use with the BH16NS40 firmware version 1.04 SVC NS50, and if MakeMKV hasn't released a working version for it in the future, the WH16NS60 1.02 worked for me. Then again, things change over time, so it doesn't hurt to ask questions.
