Hello,
After searching for a solution for hours, I'm turning to you.
I have a problem that when I want to watch the Blu-ray using VLC Player, a short intro appears and then VLC crashed. It seems to be something to do with Java? With an older version of VLC (3.0.1) it displays an error message saying that it cannot find Java and continues without the menu function. Then the film plays.
I use OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and have tried the latest version of Makemkv and VLC Player. Only after this I did downgrade both, Makemkv and VLC Player. My Java version is Java 7r80.
However, I need the menu function, which doesn't work with the newer versions. Does anyone have a solution?
Bluray Playback with VLC crashed (OSX 10.8)
Re: Bluray Playback with VLC crashed (OSX 10.8)
IIRC VLC's Java classes dump exception stack traces to the console even when they work! So your crash may not necessarily be related to Java at all. Maybe post the full output from VLC here so that everyone can examine it more closely?
FWIW I am using VLC 3.0.21 and do have working menu support. This is my default Java version:
Code: Select all
openjdk version "17.0.12" 2024-07-16
Code: Select all
