So what exactly is muxing doing? If I rip my movie using DVDFab I can play it in that format already, so why mux it?

How do I know what track to keep after dragging and dropping the largest file (or playlist)? Which and why am I choosing it?

This is what I’m talking about. Every answer I see on these corresponding threads are always so short and abbreviated, assuming the reader just knows everything involved already. It seems nobody ever makes a post with step by step instructions with clear and concise answers as to why and what you’re doing. That’s how I learn anyway.

Either way, thanks a ton for helping me get there! Image
DVDFAB can't remux DV with Atmos and it's remuxing into a mp4 container which is a bit buggy on the x700/x800m2.
This is why you need to use tsMuxer which (just like DVDFAB) makes the file playable in DV (TS or M2TS container). tsMuxer also supports Atmos (or any lossless audio).

The tracks you keep are:
1- the 1st HEVC stream (HDR10 base layer)
2- the 2nd HEVC stream (DV layer)
3- any audio you want (you can add external audio)
4- any subtitles you want.(you can add external subs)

Sweet, so incredibly awesome, thanks! Good thing is, that’s exactly how I did it but of course when I tried it in Infuse on AppleTV it didn’t show DV, so I moved on and eventually used DVDFAB’s .mp4, but lost Atmos.

Navigating and lack of a polished GUI with cover/poster art on the X800M2 kinda sucks though. Is there no solution to get LLDV DV, ATMOS and bit perfect quality with a nice GUI poster wall?

On S922X datasheet:
- Support multi-video decoder up to 4Kx2K@60fps+1x1080P@60fps

Ugoos AM6 plus with Kodi 19 DV build, mux to mkv.

Out of interest what firmware version are you running on the Ugoos?

Dune HD Pro Vision 4K Solo vs Chinoppo - Dolby Vision FEL Test file

I don't know if the Dune processes the FEL layer correctly or not, but the file plays smoothly. The TV displays the Dolby Vision logo and it's a sharper image (Less noise).

Its not processing the FEL and the Chinoppo won’t do DV on those test files - has to be a dual layer m2ts or iso.

mmm, I guess you didn't read my post about the Dune FEL ISO playback comparisons @manix and I did.
The Dune does not support FEL at all and likely never will. yes, it can play the file, but it's using only the RPU metadata.

what? the test file is dual-layer DV mp4 which the oppo support.

Pretty sure it only supports Profile 5 single layer mp4.

the oppo support all the profiles/containers (except mkv) just like the x700/x800m2...
dual-layer DV in an mp4 or ts or m2ts container is all the same.

Dune's FW changelog then lie? :(

is there a real noticeable difference between the P7 FEL and the DVS10 Engine? (RPU metadata only)?
If you see my comparison, I see the Dune with better image than the chinoppo with FEL supported at 100%.

On the other way, if the FEL layer is not really taken into account by the Dune, even if it reproduces it ..
my TV is an LG OLED, compatible with FEL, in principle? If I select "Dolby Vision Output Mode" in "tv-led", would the benefit of the FEL layer from Dune to LG OLED?

Or if i connect the Dune HDMI OUT to chinoppo HDMI, So if it would process the FEL layer?

Thanks for your time.

Pretty sure it doesnt in mp4 which is why that photo from the Chinoppo isn’t showing the FEL noise, but I don’t have anyone and can’t 100% remember.

yes, they are lying.
see here https://slow.pics/c/nCcd2BlK
this is Dune FEL dual-layer p7 VS Dune single-layer P8 (rpu only) VS Sony x700 FEL dual layer p7 VS HDR10 bluray remux.

As you can see there's no difference between p8 and p7 on the Dune player and the x700 shows what FEL can bring.

about your comparison: The FEL sample file is supposed to be noisy when FEL is processed, that's the whole point of the file. The dune is clean because it's not using the FEL.

and yes, your TV can do FEL if the external player can do FEL. No matter the settings you use, you'll never get FEL out of the Dune.

Well, I'm seeing noise on the oppo picture compared to the dune picture.
I don't see why the oppo wouldn't support dual layer DV in an MP4 container... for DV, its not different than a TS or M2TS container
I don't have one, so maybe someone that owns one can confirm.
