The latest KEYDB.cfg file already contains this disk. Have you tried downloading this file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV?

Hey Stryker412, your disc was added to the public keydb on May 25. Please read the first post of this thread for info on how to configure MakeMKV to utilise the public keydb and the actual submission template.

I bombed this last time I tried, but I feel like I've crossed all my Ts. Thank you makemkv crew who helped me previously, and perhaps I discovered a spicy disk and drive combo.

Are you actually using the public keydb? Or are you relying on MakeMKV’s native title support?

Yes, I put the latest key into .MakeMKV directory.

And I still can not open disk :

The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted

The DB6C variant of Avatar: Fire and Ash has definitely been supported by the public keydb since May 31:

Code: Select all

0x2D200C475AC62A53153F8E875203BB4E1D56725F = AVATAR_FIRE_AND_ASH (Avatar: Fire and Ash) | D | 0000-00-00 | M | 0x6D7C<Redacted> | I | 0xF59B<Redacted> | V | 0x4D0A<Redacted> | U | 1-0x6EC7<Redacted> ; MKBv82/BEE (UHD)
Once you place the keydb.cfg file in the correct location you'll be good to go.

It is important to remember the ".MakeMKV directory" is the default path to place the extracted keydb.cfg file. But if you have changed the location of the MakeMKV data directory you should be placing the extracted keydb.cfg file in whichever directory MakeMKV initially stored your local "MKB20_v82_Avatar-_Fire_and_Ash_DB6C.tgz" file.

Second disc in as many weeks that seems like not a recent release and yet isn't in the public keydb, which makes me worried that the problem is actually on my end, but just in case:

Disc type: UHD
Disc ID: 4CCA81B810DED14859573AB43F6CCA67C3DECD7E
Disc dump filename: MKB20_v77_DECISION_TO_LEAVE_DF15.tgz

Drive firmware: 1.03
LibreDrive status: Enabled
Did you sync the public keydb within the last 15 minutes? Yes
