OK, here it is.

Drive Information
OS device name: G:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD08U
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: CGDL002072UC
Firmware date: 2022-12-27
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 81

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS9331
Firmware version: ID05
Your firmware is too new. You have to wait until Mike comes up with a solution. No ETA.
Oh no! I am in this same boat. I've had this drive forever and recently got back to ripping my collection. I've had several discs fail (well, maybe 4-5 discs out of 100 or so so far) so I thought I'd go update the drive's firmware and see if that helped. Now I'm on 1.04 (same drive as @DavidLai).
Silly bugger! Updating firmware doesn’t help with reading discs. Updates really only ever help with writing discs and as far as UHD is concerned, causes nothing but issues, as you now know….
Cheers :D

Well, it's safe to say that this will be the first and only time I'll purchase a UHD Blu-Ray disk. I thought I had future-proofed myself 3 years ago when I bought the UHD drive, only to find out this past weekend that it doesn't work. Hopefully a solution will come soon. You guys are a group of very knowledgeable people, that's really good. Thanks for answering my question, and I'll continue to check here for any updates.

I think you have the choice of waiting for Mike to do his thing, presuming you have a Pioneer drive, or buy a drive from one of the suppliers here.

Yeah. I'll just wait for Mike, as the Pioneer drive I purchased 3 years ago still works fine otherwise. It would be a pitty to have to make space for another drive in my limited space.

Do folks just wait for the update to happen or is there a specific thread to follow here that he'd post on if/when that time comes?

Any firmware dated after 11/2022 is not UHD compatible and cannot be downgraded.
You have to wait until Mike comes up with a solution for which there is currently no timeline.

However, Mike has at least stated that a solution exists for all such Pioneer drives :). It's just that no-one has any hint of its ETA.

So a 2-year-old firmware still hasn't gotten supported, that's sad to hear. I'm still holding out hope, though the hope is slim.

FWIW there is considerably more hope today than there was 2 years ago... ;)
