Does anyone know if either of these drives can be flashed.
Both are LG BD rewriter.
Model = BH10LS38
Manufactured - July 2011

Model = BH10LS30
Manufactured - July 2010

ROM Ver:1.00 for both

I have been trying to flash the LG BP50NB40 by using the SDFtool flasher on a Mac, using Windows via VMWare Fusion. I first flashed to the 1.03 firmware for my drive, and then to the BU40N-1.00 firmware via the Recover option on the tool, but it is not working. I feel like there was some mention about problems using the tool on a virtual machine, but I previously had luck flashing a Pioneer drive on VMWare, using the BDRFlash tool (thanks to coopervid for the help with that one!).

This is what MakeMKV is currently saying about the drive:

Not a VM problem. I've used VMware Fusion, Parallels & UTM on macOS to flash drives.

Carefully follow the animated GIF/video on the first page of this thread. You must select a firmware three times. Pay attention to the animated GIF & when/where a firmware is chosen, and what firmware is chosen.

Ah, got it! The part where you select the same firmware, but in Recover mode, is what threw me. Thanks a million.

on mac unless your using a vm to flash
the method in the guide is much easier to crossflash where you use the hbd fw

Yep - been there, done that & took me a couple of times, my first time.
