First time poster here too! I have a BDR-XD08UMB-S I am excited about (if I can get it working). Looking forward to reading more here.

Was looking for an intro forum but can't find one. It seems there's a common theme here that some people are returning to physical media after a period of streaming. Count me in with that trend :D !

Have just upped my local NAS with a Terramaster F4-424 Pro, and am back trying to use my old Pioneer to rip stuff with MakeMKV which works perfectly, however it doesn't allow me to see, let alone rip, UHD disks. Hoping to rectify that!

It's crazy how much of an own goal the past couple of years have been for streaming services. Nobody wanted to go back to physical media and hosting their own stuff, the only way streaming services could mess this up was by nuking quality while raising prices, and sure enough...
