Was looking for an intro forum but can't find one. It seems there's a common theme here that some people are returning to physical media after a period of streaming. Count me in with that trend !

Have just upped my local NAS with a Terramaster F4-424 Pro, and am back trying to use my old Pioneer to rip stuff with MakeMKV which works perfectly, however it doesn't allow me to see, let alone rip, UHD disks. Hoping to rectify that!

It's crazy how much of an own goal the past couple of years have been for streaming services. Nobody wanted to go back to physical media and hosting their own stuff, the only way streaming services could mess this up was by nuking quality while raising prices, and sure enough...

I've been reading the makemkv forums regularly over the past decade, never registered before, just used it as knowlegde-base, which I now regret for sure, since I cannot PM members due to the excluding of possible spammers on this forum, which I understand completely though. But since I'm late to the party, in deciding at last I want to have the possibility of ripping my UHD discs to my storage devices, and reading over here that it's getting more and more difficult to obtain optical drives capable of UHD ripping, I'm in desperate need to be able to DM/PM drive sellers over here. I don't dare using eBay since there seem to be a lot of fake drives being offered. Anyways, just a little bit relieved I found this topic and have the confirmation I should have a certain amount of approved posts first to have the ability to post sellers. Since many do not ship to Europe, I've only very few options left. I hope I can contact other members soon. Once I have a working drive, I'll definitely jump on the lifetime MakeMKV license.

Any pro drive seller would put their email or site on their page / profile

Anyone that forces you to use dm hates you

See below I have my email in plain view so anyone who wants to can contact me about drive buying and flashing

There are many safe ways to do it now with Firefox relay or similar

Currently compose message tells me that I "may need to participate more in discussions to be able to use this feature".

I think I was unlocked after three granted posts (after being checked by a moderator).
