Will the AutoFlasher work on a drive crossflashed up but showing no errors? If so I'll try it!
its possible but your better off using sdf tools gui recovery option from marty.Astrogoth64 wrote: Thu Feb 10, 2022 11:20 pm Will the AutoFlasher work on a drive crossflashed up but showing no errors? If so I'll try it!

That must be a pretty old drive and most likely not compatible. What is the manufacture date?Astrogoth64 wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 2:25 am This drive came with BP50NW40 NB40 1.00
I flashd it to BP50NW40 NB50 1.03 NW patched
Then I crossflashed it to BP60NB10 1.00 NW patched
That is where nothing I do matters.
I did manage to get it to accept BP60NB10 1.03 NW patched.
That's where I am now. It will not take BP50NB40 NB50 NW patched. Write or recovery modes.
Yep, the older BP50NB40's with SVC NB40 manufactured before October 2015 are not compatible. You didn't do enough research before deciding to flash it. I really don't now if it can be recovered. Do you have a copy of the original firmware?
It just might. Give it a go and let us know. To do that you must have a copy of the original firmware as newer SVC: NS50 firmware will never work.Astrogoth64 wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 3:55 am Do you think force flashing it might work? At this point I have nothing to lose.
I have a BP50NB40 NB52 that came with firmware 1.03, that I successfully flashed and can rip discs. The only thing I did not do was backup the original firmware before flashing because I was too much in a hurry to rip discs, lol. I can not seem to find the original firmware anywhere ( for backup reasons, you never know ), LG's website just gives the 1.03 firmware for the N50, can't find the original 1.03 for NB52. Any leads my friend on how to acquire it?MartyMcNuts wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 6:47 amIt just might. Give it a go and let us know. These instructions saved me today. I didn’t realize you had to select two firmwares in the same process. Either the gui should be updated to reflect that, or the instructions should be updated in both the main flashing guide and the GUI thread for the NB52. It’s not clear at all.MartyMcNuts wrote: Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:58 pm @Astrogoth64, @FatNFuri0us1,
Here is the complete process that has worked for a BP50NB40 with SVC NB52.
1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 1.03-MK.
2. Flash the drive again to BP50NB40 1.03-MK, this time checking the "bootloader" box.
Now for the crossflash:
3. Select the RECOVERY option and in the pop up, select the BP50NB40 1.03-MK firmware that you just flashed.
4. Select the BP60NB10 1.00-MK firmware in the normal drop box.
5. Click START
NB52 gets its own line in the 'Recommended Firmware to flash for MakeMKV' section of the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide.mnoah66 wrote: Tue Jul 04, 2023 5:32 pm These instructions saved me today. NB52 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with enc > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with bootloader/full flash > BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty download/file.php?id=2143
This simple explanation saved me. Thanks a ton mr McNutsMartyMcNuts wrote: Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:58 pm @Astrogoth64, @FatNFuri0us1,

There is no ASUS slim external drive firmware.kaysee wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 2:02 am Is there a way to avoid jamless playback with the LG BP50NB40?
The "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide" is confusing about this. It states: "As previously stated in this guide. DO NOT crossflash between ASUS and LG firmware for slim drives like the LG BU40N for example. It will brick your drive. You’ve now been warned twice within this guide regarding this." However, there was no previous statement to that effect in the guide. On the other hand, the guide does state, "Don't crossflash desktop drives to slim drives or the other way around", which is not the same thing as stating not to crossflash bewteen ASUS and LG firmware for slim drives.
With my LG desktop model I flashed it with ASUS firmware to avoid jamless playback, which lets me do data recovery from problematic discs without fake data produced from bad areas.
