Okay, the other drive arrived. Here is the info:

So far I've noticed that the Pioneer drives have lower average read speeds compared to the Asus drive. The Asus drive can go up to 8x and hovers around 6-7x often, whereas the Pioneer drives are usually around 4-5x or lower. This happens with the Asus drive in an external NexStar enclosure and the 212v connected via Sata.
There have been a couple titles that the Pioneer drives ripped that the Asus could not; however, there are still discs that none of the 4 drives I have can rip. These are all used condition blurays.
Annoyingly, one of the discs I ripped was in obviously poor condition but succeeded, whereas other discs that appeared to be in much better shape failed, so I can't go by appearance.

The most important function when ripping discs is to thoroughly clean the discs you are backing up. We cannot empatize this enough. Even a scratch or finger mark will stop a disc from backing up properly.
