Are you getting "No disk" or some other error? "No disk" means the drive doesn't recognize the format of the disk, which can be a bad disk, a dirty disk (most likely smudges in the area of the hub hole), or the drive is having issues.
These Redbox-released discs will only work in older drivers. Works on LiteOn and my Panasonic UJ-260 but not on the LGs. The same issue happened with their Becky movie.
It's not the drive - I did a few before and after attempting this one.
I noticed this bluray appears to be a bit thicker and very rounded edges...Like the one that "Beckey" was on that a lot of people also had issues with. Is this a new type of disc that has new protection or something? strange.

Oh strange - this is a redbox release. I appreciate the information. Is this a new type of protection or something?
Nope it’s not new protection, libre drives which is a hack drive patch for some reason can’t read certain Blu-ray Disc, use any old bluray drive that can read Blu-ray Disc and mkv will decrypt the bluray as usual
I'm ripping Ava right now on my WH14NS40 drive. Originally it would just spin. I closed MakeMKV, opened/closed the drive tray, then re-opened MakeMKV. Initially it threw the same "No disc inserted". But I just tried to re-open the disc in MakeMKV and it came up immediately. *shrug*

Tried your method, didn't work for me. My WH16NS40 wouldn't recognize it, and just assumed the drive was still empty.
That being said my BC-5500A recognized it immediately. Damn 8.5 MB a sec is so slow.
Another disc with a rounded edge. Another unreadable by LibreDrive. Huh. There's gotta be a commonality.
out of curiosity I got The Fanatic (another RB release) and that worked on a LibreDrive drive... just wanted to point out that historically around Becky time RbB changed the disc itself, indeed got changed (concurring with other assessments that the disc itself 'feels' different, more rounded edge)
The older and slower drive managed to get data off the disc, though. it seems it is related with newer (faster) drives or Libredrive firmware

I am getting the same issues. I have two drives that do not recognize the disc at all but my regular TV blue-ray drive reads and plays it just fine but not the two drives connected to my computer. A Buffalo libredrive/UHD activated and a stock unflashed external ASUS BW-16D1X-U. I am not sure what the issue is except some encoding on newer discs not yet available with these drives.
