Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
I can't drag the .m2ts files over to tsMuxeR from the disc as it doesn't work. Does this mean we have to rip with MakeMKV twice? Once to copy the disc and a 2nd time to create the .mkv file?

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Anyone have pitch black uhd and converted it to mkv? Tried to play it on the shield like usual and it triggered dv but completely black screen with audio playing. It's a mel title. First one of my rips I've seen do this.

How do you create the "unencrypted backup"?Cannikin wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 11:34 pmWhere do you get the m2ts from? Is that inside BDMV somewhere? If so I assume you need an unencrypted backup?RESET_9999 wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 11:31 pm you don't need eac3to if you have the original m2ts file.

Open MakeMKV > Ensure the desired disc drive is selected as the source in the UI > File > Backup > Check the "Decrypt video files" box > Select your output directory > Click OKlujan wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 2:55 pmHow do you create the "unencrypted backup"?Cannikin wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 11:34 pmWhere do you get the m2ts from? Just tried mine on shield - seemed to work fine. At least there wasn’t any black screen - jumped 10 mins in too, DV picture + audio.SamuriHL wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:59 pm Anyone have pitch black uhd and converted it to mkv? Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Thanks, it took a while but I finally got it working. I'm watching "Gemini Man" 4k in Dolby Vision and Atmos. I noticed that the .ts file is around 5 GB more than the .mkv file. Is this expected?

My copy just arrived. I will test it out this weekend and let you know.SamuriHL wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:59 pm Anyone have pitch black uhd and converted it to mkv? Yea just curious if it works for others. Was weird. Ended up watching it in madvr tone mapped HDR cause I was too lazy to go put the disc in the UB820. Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Just checked mine: plays in HDR and DTS-HD MA on Plex on my Shield Pro just fine! I haven’t converted to TS or use the patched Exoplayer so no DV for me.SamuriHL wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:59 pm Anyone have pitch black uhd and converted it to mkv? Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
are you using overscan on the shield? with 8.2 is a bug, if overscan is disabled it should work again. otherwise try to reboot the shield and try it again.SamuriHL wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:59 pm Anyone have pitch black uhd and converted it to mkv? strange , works fine on mine.lujan wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:44 pm I can't drag the .m2ts files over to tsMuxeR from the disc as it doesn't work. ?
Well, thanks to my very fast NVME drive , it is faster this way than encoding the truehd track with eac3to.lujan wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:44 pm Does this mean we have to rip with MakeMKV twice? Once to copy the disc and a 2nd time to create the .mkv file?
I rip from disc to a folder bluray structure (which take most of the time) then create a DV mkv using the folder bluray structure as the source instead of ripping the disc again.
Then you use tsmuxer to mux the dv mkv with atmos from the original m2ts.
Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Sounds good, I'll rip in that order the next time.
Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Can I just ask please if there are any Dolby Vision Demo files available (preferably mkv's) to test with the modified Exo Player.
Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Nope, not using overscan. This is the ONLY title in my several dozen DV movies that doesn't work for me.M2k80 wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2020 12:10 amare you using overscan on the shield? with 8.2 is a bug, if overscan is disabled it should work again. otherwise try to reboot the shield and try it again.SamuriHL wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:59 pm Anyone have pitch black uhd and converted it to mkv? Just got a chance to test it out. Dolby Vision triggers, and video & audio playback are fine.jayper wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 9:56 pmMy copy just arrived.
