Is there any chance that this will ever be addressed? (the issue where a disk won't even read the structure, just spins endlessly?).
I had pinned all my hopes on this sentence from "What is LibreDrive?".... "A LibreDrive would never refuse to read the data from the disc or declare itself “revoked”"
Spent days of my life getting a new drive and making it LibreDrive enabled, but disks still won't read...
If this can't be fixed, how long before all new disks use the same protection?
Screener protection
Re: Screener protection
Have I asked a forbidden question?
Re: Screener protection
No, not forbidden, but one with no answer at this time. And, probably there never will be, since "screener" disks will be no more after the awards ceremony this year.
Screener disks have not been per-specifications DVDs. There are only a relative few of them ever sent out, and they have copy protection schemes not seen on commercial disks, since the studios do not WANT them to be playable on normal DVD players.

Re: Screener protection
Thanks Woodstock, but they are playable on normal DVD players. Members don’t have any special equipment to play them...
