DV Profile 4 is single track dual layer
DV Profile 7 is dual track dual layer

Without any audio track:
- C7 play perfectly dvhe.07.06 => mp4 files done with the mp4muxer method
- C7 stutter on dvhe.04.06 BL+EL+RPU => ts or m2ts files done with tsmuxer + yusesope fantastic tool
I actually have a bit of a different experience on my B9 using the Joker sample files. Both without audio track:

-MP4 made with the original separate BL and EL tracks in mp4muxer (dvhe.07.06) -> Doesn't play at all on the internal player or TV Plex player
-TS made with combined BL+EL tracks using yusecope's tool and tsmuxer (dvhe.04.06) -> Plays perfectly and triggers DV

I tried this and the output ts file still only has 1 video stream.

When I add the BL_EL_RPL.hevc into tsmuxerGUI, is it supposed to be shown as only 1 layer? I'm afraid the error comes from that hevc file, not tsmuxer.
That's correct. When using yusecope's tool, there will only be one video track. But that single track has two layers, the BL and EL layer, hence single track dual layer.

Hello!

It's possible to create DV profile 5 video file in tsMuxer from file generated by bl_el_rpu_builder.py script with -mode 2 option?

Currently i do this with mp4muxer:

Code: Select all

mp4muxer --dv_profile 5 -i BL_RPU.hevc -o out.mp4
something like this.

Sorry for my english!

Mmm, blu ray .com has Mission Impossible listed as Fel but it works on my Oppo after Yusepoe 3 tool and TS muxer, 1917 is listed as FEL also but doesn’t work (IDK).
Is there anyway to be sure what is FEL and what isn’t?

You can use something like BDInfo to scan for the bitrate of the EL track. MELs tracks will have a very low bitrates (10s to low 1000s at most kbps) while FELs will have bitrates in the mid to upper 1000s of kbps. I believe you should also be able to tell from the size of the EL hevc file when extracted. MEL files will be relatively small compared to the FEL files.

General rule is that if the EL layer is about ~2Mb/s or lower, then it's MEL. FEL usually have much higher Mb/s. This page might be of help as well: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=276448

But I think some FEL will simply will not play. I have conducted extensive testing on The Fog, which has a pretty big FEL, and have not been able to do it on Shield. The errors I got were audio track related, but it makes no sense, since the same tracks work with standard HDR track. But right now I'm stuck, don't know what to look for anymore and it's really annoying me.

actually, is there any way to mux DV video with Atmos into an mp4? I think mp4muxer does not work with Atmos tracks or I don't know how to do it properly.

That's unfortunately not possible. Part of the reason for this whole endeavor is the lack of support for lossless audio in mp4s.

Can confirm The Fog will not play on the shield using the latest tools.

Only thing that I know is different from the other movies I have done is this is a 24fps movie and not 23.976fps.

No idea if that is messing something up.

Looking at that list of movies, some other titles that include similarly sized FELs (>10mb/s) are Cliffhanger, Dredd, Evil Dead 2, Leon the Professional, Skyscraper, and Universal Soldier. If anyone has any of those titles, maybe it's worth a try to see if it's an issue with the large FEL layer?

I just tried Dredd which has a larger FEL than The Fog and it worked just fine.

Only thing I see now is maybe the 24p is messing something up?

Could be, do you have an LG TV to test if the Fog might play through the internal player? It'll probably give you a message saying audio is not supported, but if the video plays without issue, then maybe the issue is with the Shield not liking the 24fps.
