I'm having problems with the GoT S8 bluray. I see that the 4K version had problems too.
I'm running MakeMKV v1.14.7 win(x64-release) under Windows 10. My setup & BluRay info at the end of this post.
MakeMKV reads the GoT S8 disk ok at setup. But when you hit the "Make MKV" button, it runs for about 2 mins and then starts spitting out errors like this:
Error 'OS error - This device does not exist' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00045.m2ts' at offset '9819254784'
Error 'OS error - The volume for a file has been externally altered such that the opened file is no longer valid' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom2' at offset '9819254784'
Error 'OS error - This device does not exist' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00045.m2ts' at offset '9819254784'
When I dismiss the "failed" dialogbox, MakeMKV says there is no disc in the drive, the drive is unresponsive to MakeMKV "eject" button & drive status is stuck on "unmounting...". But Windows Explorer can still read the drive.
I've tried several times with discs 1/3 , 2/3 & 3/3. Similar error and behaviour each time. MakeMKV works fine with other Bluray movies.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Game of Thrones Season 8 (BluRay)
Re: Game of Thrones Season 8 (BluRay)
I worked around this by rolling back to v 1.14.4, using the beta key at https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053. Worked without a hitch.
I thought others might want to know. There must be a buffer-overflow bug or something in v 1.14.7.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Blu-ray problem
Hi,
I've used MakeMKV for years and it's always worked perfectly, until now.
I'm trying to rip the new Game of Thrones Season 8 Blu-ray -- not the UHD or 4K versions, but the regular 1080p version.
When I try to rip, MakeMKV v1.14.7 says "No disc inserted", and under LibreDrive Information says "Might be supported in future".
My Bluray drive is a Pioneer BDC-207D 1.00. Can I fix this by getting a different Bluray drive?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Dekka, "No Disk" means the drive couldn't detect a supported format.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 8 Blu-ray problem
Disc detection is done by the Operating System. If the disc could not be identified, MakeMKV cannot see them.
If it is a MakeMKV problem you can verify this by testing it with an other blu-ray.
Maybe you are running without Libredrive into problems with the GoT S8 discs. The discs uses AACS 72 (don't know if this applies to all countries) and a modified key revocation table which can block MakeMKV. This is currently only supported with Libredrive enabled drives.and under LibreDrive Information says "Might be supported in future".

Re: Game of Thrones Season 8 (BluRay)
Based on the drive info that was posted, you are most likely getting that from the AACS 72 revocation and MakeMKV doesn't have a key for AACS 72 yet. A LibreDrive that ignores it is the only way to read these discs currently and your drive isn't supported yet so another drive that is supported would be necessary at the moment.

Before you go out and buy a new BD drive, try an older version of MakeMKV. I uninstalled v.1.14.7. It's buggy.Dekka wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 10:33 amI've used MakeMKV for years and it's always worked perfectly, until now.

I successfully ripped GoT S8 with v.1.14.4. You just need to feed it the registration key. See the second post above.
I found v.1.14.4 in my Windows Download folder. It looks like it's also available here for Windows: https://www.makemkv.com/download/old/Se ... 1.14.4.exe.
Of course, Christmas is coming...and someone nice might buy you one of those shiny new BD drives

MrMick, Do you have a Libredrive enabled drive or no. I am asking because GoT Season 8 discs (and its AACS v72 revocation table) should revoke the license and not allow MakeMKV (up through 1.14.7) to open the discs. I have been told here (https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 073#p82073) not to try and rip GoT Season 8 until MakeMKV can handle AACS v72 since I do not have a libredirve enabled drive. This person also indicated that their drive is not libredrive enabled.MrMick wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 5:12 amBefore you go out and buy a new BD drive, try an older version of MakeMKV. Re: Game of Thrones Season 8 (BluRay)
Nevermind. I discovered that the GoT Season 8 1080p Blu-ray discs only have AACS v68, and MakeMKV 1.14.4 and up already handles that just fine.TheFatWookie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 7:32 pmMrMick, Do you have a Libredrive enabled drive or no.
