Blu-ray rips without errors but output folder is empty

Post by xfan10 »

Trying to rip Fight Club. MakeMKV sees the directory listing and I choose the film at 36GB, takes about 10 minutes and reports successful but the folder is empty. I tried twice. Am I missing something? Copied many other blu-rays successfully with the same drive.

Activate debug logging (link in my signature) and try the rip again. Can't guess without information, so we need to see what MakeMKV reported.

I just figured it out. For some reason the saved file started with a period, . , making it a hidden file in OS X. I enabled hidden files through terminal and still couldn't see the file even though I could see other hidden files. So I used Transmit to view the folder since it sees hidden files automatically and was able to find the file locally and allow me to rename it so that its no longer hidden.

The Title Information in MKV was like this:

Title information
Name: .
Source file name: 00400.m2ts
Duration: 0:02:26
Size: 121.2 MB
Segment count: 1
Segment map: 400
File name: ._t29.mkv

Ah, yes, that would do it...

The other one to watch for is if a file name starts or ends with a space, and becomes "impossible" to copy or delete from within finder or (on Windows) explorer.
