Included in this zip is the following firmware:

WH16NS60_1.00

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1k2h5In ... sp=sharing
MD5: 9C83D4E39F34B6B17E7CD273AF522887
SHA-256: 3D9B0EDCA7058028A6DB5590A0EB4C42F0B729A5EFC042033264B1346874FED8
I know there's only been 1000 confirmation requests, but the DE WH16NS60_1.00 from the link quoted (pg 1 of thread), is ideal for a newly purchased NS50 WH14NS40 via the Marty Mcnuts GUI app?

Thanks for all your awesome work everyone

TOO LATE! jumped blind, looks awesome!
You should of flashed the MK NS60 1.01 firmware

Just FYI, I just received a new BRUHD-PU3 with BU11 pre-installed. I made my own DE version of BU10 right around the time this post came up. The BU11-installed PU3 works fine with the DE version of BU10. :) (I assume Mike will generate an MK version at some point.) I'll try the BR40N FW on the PU3 at some point and see how it goes. In the meantime, this drive is good to go.

Thanks to Billycar11 for making all this happen, and for helping me fill in some gaps.

I'm new to this forum and have a LG WH16NS40 drive, which came with the 1.03 firmware installed. I've been reading this thread and have watched the YouTube video explaining how to use the patched flasher tool. The problem is I can't get the file to download from ZippyShare. Clicking the Download Now button gives you everything but the actual file you're trying to download. Is there another source for this tool? :x

@nj54567,

There is updated firmware that will fix the problem. No -of course it will not compromise the enclosure. Just make it better.

just wanted to log in and say that, as a noob, I used the zip file at the bottom of the third post (provided by billycar11) and it worked great on my wh14ns40.

It was quite quick and easier than expected.

Thanks!

I'm getting the notorious "Write DRAM NG" error

I just purchased a LG WH14NS40_NS50 drive with firmware v1.03 on it. Sadly my old drive of the exact same model with FW 1.01 died on me :(

I'm using the patched LG firmware updated provided earlier in this thread from the google drive files. I've tried using both the 1.00 and 1.02 firmware included in the zip file and have confirmed the hex code is correct.

What am I doing wrong here? Pretty bummed right now

Try one of the alternate flash tools & look for an 'MK' version of your drive's FW.
