Insert a couple of Blu-Rays and find out for yourself. :) If it's supported, the info will come up eventually. For my Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 (BU10 firmware), LibreDrive didn't kick in for the first disc for some reason but did on the second.

No, even opening a DVD should have MakeMKV check your drive. LD isn't a "UHD-only" thing.

is that drive of yours a UHD-official or "just" a UDH-friendly device?
My Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2VB was briefly tested (LibreDrive line appeared in the log) on the first try but ever since no metioning (right info drive area) or further LibreDrive testings (debug or log) take place :

Hi. Sorry about the late reply. It's UHD official. I got it for easy usage when traveling. The BU11 firmware may or may not be supported by LibreDrive. I'm not going to flash in order to find out. :) If somebody has a drive with BU11 already on it and wants to report back, please do.

Sorry to tell you this but from what I understand if it's am official drive it implements full AACS 2.0 encryption where there's no way around at this time so your drive isn't likely compatible

Hi. I actually did plug in my drive eventually. With the BU10 firmware, it's good to go. :) I sent Mike some data to see if there's any way to either revert drives with BU11 (it doesn't work, or so I'm told) or to mod the firmware such that it'll work with LD.

To be clear, drives with BU10 firmware can rip 4K discs. They take awhile to get started but they can do it. BU11 drives can't.
