Did they replace the whole set, or just the bad disks?anson.maddock wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 8:37 pmBefore I discovered that rolling back to 1.12.2 fix the problem I requested a replacement from amazon.

Re: Star Trek TOS blu-ray errors - Failed to save title
Problem is with the entire set, not only 1 disc, no matter if i rip directly from blu-ray or from .iso image. Only MakeMKV 1.12.3 does this error. Older versions and other ripping soft like DVD Fab works fine.
The only difference i noticed is, that with TOS, the video is in VC-1 format. All others use H.264. There are also 2 versions of each episode, one with original visual effects, other one with remastered, marked as "angle 1" and "angle 2".
The whole set of 24 discs is like $50 on amazon, individual seasons/episodes for much less. Maybe you can try to invest a couple of $ to investigate
The exact set is here:

They replaced the entire set. Amazon doesn't send out part replacements. This was good because the replacement set was a better quality.
Re: Star Trek TOS blu-ray errors - Failed to save title
I got the set today... The case sucks. Broken, despite being packaged well, and hard to get some disks out.
And yes, this set does NOT like v1.12.3 at all. 1.12.2 is ripping, but very slowly... over 4 hours for each disk. Which is a real PITA, because there are 182 more to go between the TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT.
(This topic has cost me a LOT of money!)

Re: Star Trek TOS blu-ray errors - Failed to save title
Probably the same bug I've encountered ripping Star Trek The Original Series Blu-rays using V1.12.3
The ripping process would appear to be working but when reading was finished one line reported that it had failed with no other details.
Tried another disc in the set, same result.
After reading this thread I reverted to V1.12.2 and all is well, taking about an hour to rip a disc, angle 1 episodes only.

Hello,
I'm having the same issues as OP. Where can I find a copy of 1.12.2 to go back to? The only version I've found so far is 1.12.3.

Use 'Old Versions' link in my sig.

Thanks for the helpful info. Downgraded to 1.12.2 (and had to pay for the registration code--but it's awesome software and totally worth it), and "Star Trek, TOS" is converting perfectly.

Just wanted to post an FYI that I've had the same problem. First time I've had an error due to upgrading MakeMKV.
Thanks for the fix!

Re: Star Trek TOS blu-ray errors - Failed to save title
Just posting to say thanks got my TOS today and had the same issue a roll back seems to be working now on Disc 1. Had to register but think I have used to the software enough to warrant paying.
Re: Star Trek TOS blu-ray errors - Failed to save title
Just wanted to post that I was coincidently ripping my TOS blu-rays tonight and since I know that I have ripped them before and that after downgrading to 1.12.2 it was able to rip correctly, I would have to say there is definitely an issue with 1.12.3. Just wanted to help out by chiming in. Once I am done ripping my TOS disks. I would be more than willing to help with logs or whatever might be needed to track the issue further.
Thanks.
Tim

Re: Star Trek TOS blu-ray errors - Failed to save title
The problem seems to be fixed for v1.14.1 (at least on Linux).
It took me 90 mins to rip the first Bluray (excluded Angle 2). How does that compare?
