LG WH16NS40 from Frys Electronics ?

Post by Anthony1017 »

So I just went to my local Frys electronics and they have a whole lot of LG WH16NS40 drive s with SVC code NS50. Now question is does it matter the Rom version and the manufacturers date? This drives have version 1.02 and are July 2017 stamped.

Good drives. Mine came with v1.03 F/W, requiring downflash.

This has been discussed hundreds of times over the past 7 months across many threads. Gotta do some leg work on your own and read/catch up.

On that note I found an October 2015 wh16ns40, svc code 50, firmware 1.00!!

I’ve had my hands on at least 100 of these things never seen one that old.
Have to see if it works.
Dead on arrival, that sucks, why those assholes had it on the shelf I do not know.

On the other hand the San Fernando Valley is now devoid of the LG-BH16NS40. I like this model a lot, and in my experience can go head to head with the ASUS in terms of speed and noise level.
Just checked online and they appear to have them at the Fry's in Woodland Hills (San Fernando Valley) but a $99.00 on clearance, I will just use the one I already have.

I like the fact that you point out someone's lack of effort, but are still polite to them. You are the total opposite of a troll, and I thank you for that. Just because. :)
